Countie collects no data. Everything stays on your device.

Your countdowns

The countdowns you create (titles, dates, times, emoji, colours and settings) are stored only on your iPhone, in Countie’s own storage, so that the app and its widgets can show them. We never receive them.

Photos

If you add a background photo, you choose it with Apple’s photo picker. Countie does not get access to your photo library; only the single photo you pick is copied into Countie’s storage on your device. It is never uploaded.

Notifications and Live Activities

Reminders and Lock Screen countdowns are created on your device by iOS. No notification content passes through our servers.

Purchases

Countie Pro is sold through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details or Apple Account. Apple tells the app only whether Pro is unlocked.

Update check

Up to once a day, Countie downloads a small file from this website (countie.builtbywin.com/version.json) to see whether a newer version is available. The request contains no identifiers or personal data. Like any request on the internet, it reveals your device’s IP address to our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, which uses it only to deliver the file. We do not log, store or analyse these requests.

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and loads no third-party resources.

Children

Countie does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version changes how data is handled (for example, iCloud sync, which stores your countdowns in your own private iCloud account where we cannot access them), we will update this page before that version is released.
